VoIP NOC automation



A network operations center is a facility that is responsible for the surveillance and control of telecommunications traffic flow within a service area. It is also responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting a network infrastructure.
How NOC works?
Network Operation Centers usually has departments responsible for different activities like:
  • Surveillance
  • Troubleshooting
The surveillance team is responsible for monitoring the network based on different pre-defined parameters. If anything unusual activity appears in the network or performance of any parameter degrades, the surveillance team creates a Trouble Ticket about the problem and forwards it to the concerned troubleshooting team.
The troubleshooting team is responsible to troubleshoot the escalated problem in the network. If the first level troubleshooting team fails to rectify the problem, they escalate the same to the next level troubleshooting team along with their analysis. If the network problem could not be rectified in the NOC, it is escalated to the vendor of the equipments.
Once the problem is rectified, the Trouble Ticket raised is closed and the root cause analysis is submitted for the rectification of any similar problems in the future.

It allows checking such important parameters of communication quality as Answer Seizure Ratio (ASR) and Average Call Duration (ACD).
